Hey guys does anyone know where i can get a pretty good looking complete Darth Vadre costume for under 300 bucks(not expecting to find one but I might just get uber lucky)

for $300 you can hardly get a decent Vader Helmet let alone the whole kit n\' caboodle. Smile

I\'m looking how to make them it looks alot cheaper

LF, I\'ve got a full size one from ANH. I purchased parts and made much of it on my own, or I commissioned people for it. Altogther, it cost me about $700-$800. IT\'s not bad either (in my opinion) All I\'m missing is a cod piece (for some odd reason I have yet to buy one or make it...I\'m just lazy...)

BUt if you go to Vadermaker Australia\'s website (not the UK version) you might be able to get some help. He offers instructions on how to buy materials and make your own at a very cheap cost. He also has links that show you where you can get other advice.

As for making one for less than $300, you\'re probably out of luck. You can buy a Don Post standard size helmet for around $40-60 and you\'ll be off to a good start (now mind you it isn\'t the full size), but it\'s a start. The capes can be easily made and the rest is just undercape cosmetic stuff.

Usually the DP Classic Action helmet goes for around $400-500 on Ebay, and fiberglass ones go for anywhere from $800 - $2000. And that\'s just for the helmet. I guess it all depends on how authentic you want it to be.

E-mail me if you have any more questions...hope I could help...

Yup, this bad boy cost me $1,250.00 (it was over the course of a year and a half). Good luck trying to find a decent looking Vader suit for under at least $800.00 or so... I\'m tired right now, but if you need any pointers I\'d be glad to see what I could do. Surely between Stainboy, and I, we can help ya out. Later!!!

I made the entire pleather pants and tunic, the iron lung chest box, the belt, and the shoulder armor + shin guards. The boots I bought on Ebay for $20, the gloves I bought in a biker shop for $15 (they look almost identical to ANH version of gloves), the lightsabe is a accurate hilt of a broken FX (light up version) offical Vader lightsaber tht I bought supercheap at a convention (like $30 or something).

The helmet IS the very demanded Classic Action Don Post helmet. However, I bought it before they were out of production, and thus it was only $100. If you were thinking on buying one, I would most certainly recommend it, as they are much lighter than the fiberglass ones and are thus more comfortable. This is the reason they are in demand. (Oddly enough, I have been looking for a fiberglass one, so if I ever find one...I\'ll let you know that I\'m selling my DP!)

The capes are my favorite story. Many capes on Ebay and the web are people\'s facsimiles of the original item and are often not even floor length like the original. Often you\'ll see people\'s capes stop at the knee. My capes were bought directly from a guy who worked for ILM. BTW, not the guy you see currently offering hand made capes on Ebay. He also claimes to have worked for ILM and sells poor reproductions.) The capes I bought were not hand made by the seller. THey were manufactured for a Darth Vader character that walked around Skywalker ranch on promotional dates. So they weren\'t made for the movie or anyhting like that, but they are pretty damn authentic and impressive. If I wan\'t 6\'6" in the costume, the capes would be dragging on the floor!!! Point is, when and if you make your capes, make sure you accurately measure your height in your boots, so that ther cape comes down to the movie accurate length.

Let me know if I can help you at all....

Lewsi Tully. I dig your threads. The luster is magnificent.

May I ask how tall you stand in the costume?
