Tcm Score - b47 - 10-14-2010 Hey there, I scored a Poulan 245a last week, but I had to let the thing out of my room due to the gas smell hahahah So now I have empty the can and its not smelling anymore  Just snapped some shots. The Chain Saw is not working... well, I'm pretty sure that it could work with a minimum tweaking, but anyway I'm fine with it not working... If not, I'd try to swing the thing like Leatherface and I'd finishied in hospital lol The chainsaw is freaking heavy... more than what I imagined. The thing is impressive and its one of my coolest score. I tried to capture some of the dirt details on it. All naturally weathered lol Tcm Score - b47 - 10-14-2010 Tcm Score - mybankey - 10-14-2010 Hey, not to sound like a dork, but the same thing happened to me. I thought i had the same 1974 tcm saw and found out i did not, instead i have the one they used in prt 5...the worst of the series, lol and its not technically that, its a 10 10 instead of the 700,oops. You have the same saw, but its the 245 a, the one they used in the 74 film was the 306a. Still a COOL A$$ saw and a great score! Here is a cool website if ya didnt already know about it...http://www.texaschainsawmassacre.net/FAQ.htm Go to the bottom of the pg. to read about all of the saws. Once again, i hope you dont think im a jerk for this, just thought id share this with you. Tom Tcm Score - evilsmellyclown - 10-14-2010 Cool saw. I swear, this one looks almost exactly like my 306a. I really don't know for sure what saw was in what movie, (everyone I ask tells me a different story) I do know one thing though, THAT SAW IS SWEET!! Nice pick up brother. You don't sound like a jerk lol... but I actually did a little research about the saw... The debate is well place if you want my opinion... The poulan 306a and 245a are exaclty the same... except for the gas tank I think and the logo There are some places that says its a poulan 306 other a 245... IMDB they say its a 245: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072271/trivia Wikipedia say its a 245: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poulan Of course, those ressouces are not very interesting... But if you look at the pictures: Take a good look at the tank form... Now you can check both version of the poulan and you will see that the 306 has a thiner gas tank I found that on a chainsaw forum lol http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=81514 So, in my opinion, the chainsaw is more looking like a 245a due to its tank. But again this is not a big deal lol since that is the only difference... both are nearly identical. Tell me what you guys think. Tcm Score - -Room237- - 10-14-2010 I say it looks killer and you should go have it worked on so it runs! that would be fun on Halloween to get that saw ripping. The saw i got, i wont be able to use cause it squirts gas out of the top of it. Dont want to burn up the kids, lol. So im just gonna use my poulan wild thing, that will do just fine. Tom Tcm Score - JigSaw - 10-17-2010 Don't confuse them, the original saw IS a Poulan 245a. If it IS a 306, it has replaced parts with parts only a 245 has. Great saw man, congrats! |
