Built My Own Rzh2 Bowie. - msharrow - 05-10-2011 have had this knife for a while and wanted to start this project forever and i finally got around to doing it. for my very first knife build i think it came out pretty sweet. bought my hunter companion and took off the crap handle that was on it. wielded and lengthened the tang, which is the metal part of the handle. ground the tang down to the shape i wanted. got me a chunk on macassar ebony, some of the hardest wood i have ever had the displeasure of sanding, LOL, attached that to the tang with pins. went to work on that sucker with a dremel and power tools. got it to a workable size and then hand sanded the rest. threw some poly on it to make it shine and there you go. i have a bloody and a clean version now and i am happy as a pig in Sheep. all of this could have never been possible without helpful advice i got from my good friend Raymond (MickIbanez). he helped me threw some rough spots. also, my good friend Rich who showed me how to wield. thanks guys. on to the pics. the following are a progression of the work i did on the knife. i wish i would have taken a few more while building but i sometimes get wrapped up in my work and forget. mike Built My Own Rzh2 Bowie. - msharrow - 05-10-2011 Built My Own Rzh2 Bowie. - lars10 - 05-10-2011 That knife is a beast!
