Remake Nightmare On Elm St. - mybankey - 07-08-2011 I know im a bit late on watching this, but its on free on demand, so i gave it a shot. Anyway just on freds makeup and how he was, i got to say i liked him. Hate to say this, but he was creepier/darker then the original. As far as the looks of him, when i saw some screen caps i didnt like it, but for whatever reason it changed for me when i saw the movie. The movement of his face and just the much more real look of his burns made him scarier to me. Still love Robert Englund but i got to give a thumbs up for Jackie Earle Haleys performance. Tom ![]() Remake Nightmare On Elm St. - mpetrie - 07-09-2011 I totally agree, man. I LOVE JEH's Freddy. I still prefer the original Freddy (meaning the Part 1) over the remake but I love how Jackie made it his own. I would have changed a TON of things about the remake but I wouldn't have changed much about the new Fredster himself. Remake Nightmare On Elm St. - mybankey - 07-09-2011 Yep! He did a great job. Tom ![]() Remake Nightmare On Elm St. - Darth Veach - 07-09-2011 I agree with you guys. I watched it and loved just how downright evil they made him again. No ridiculous stand up comedy one liners like in some of the originals. I'd love to see Jackie play him again! Remake Nightmare On Elm St. - kaizu13 - 07-09-2011 Out of the 3 MB remakes this would be my fav  Though I loved the TCM remake, it comes in second because to me LF looked too Hollywood. Jackie's make-up was no where kiddie friendly which made it scary ![]() Remake Nightmare On Elm St. - GraveOctober - 07-09-2011 The way I see it, all remakes are expansions of the franchise. Cash-ins of the originals don't constitute for good film. I liked The Hills Have Eyes (2005) more than the original, and the TCM (2003) remake wasn't horrible either. But, there is a huge lack of good original horror, and I think these remakes are to blame for the lack of progression in the genre at the moment. I liked Jakie Earl Haley in the movie at parts (made it enjoyable) but the movie was lacking good substance and was yet again a piece of lazy Platinum Dunes garbage. Congrats PD on another horrible piece of cinema, yet again tarnishing the name of horror and butchering the name of movies I love. Remake Nightmare On Elm St. - MPN212 - 07-09-2011 I loved this movie and JEH's performance as Freddy was far better than Englunds, in MY opinion. I like the first two NOES movies ok, then they just got to goofy for me. I hope JEH reprises his role in a direct sequel, and keep Fred sinister. Just my two cents. |
