3rd-Graders Arrested for Their Drawings
Two boys ages 9 and 10 in Ocala, Fla., have been arrested and charged with a second-degree felony for making primitive pencil-and-crayon stick figure drawings on scrap paper that depicted a 10-year-old classmate being stabbed and hung, reports The Associated Press. Police took the children, who are special education students, out of school in handcuffs.
The official charge: Making a written threat to kill or harm another person. The two have been suspended from their elementary school. One of the drawings showed the two boys standing on either side of the other boy and "holding knives pointed through" his body, AP says of the police report. They identified each person in the drawing with written names or initials.
A second drawing showed a stick figure hanging with tears falling from his eyes and the other two stick figures standing below him. In addition, other pieces of paper had misspelled profanities and the initials of the boy they were allegedly threatening. The boy who was depicted as the victim saw the drawings and told his teacher, who confiscated the sketches and informed the school\'s dean. The dean then called police, who consulted with the State Attorney\'s office before making the arrest. AP reports that the boys\' parents said they thought the children should be punished by the school and families and not the legal system.

what the hell is the world coming to when little special ed students are drug out of a school in hand-cuffs because of a stick figure drawing. A STICK FIGURE DRAWING!!!
When I was in elem school I used to draw Jason and Freddy and all kinds of freaky gory bodies torn apart crap. I couldn\'t wait till I was done drawing so I could break out the ol red marker, lol.
This is just nuts. Arrested over a stick figure drawing.
Well that cinches it in my opinon. The US has officially become a schizo wack job place to live.

man that is nuts, I drew gorey pictures all the time when I was younger, in class, I still do now, what kinda backwords crap is it to arrest a 3rd grader? Preety damn insane if ya ask me. So what, stick figure violence, and I\'ll bet the kid who they drew dyin was some bully prick kid who picks on em, and they wear just lettin out a little steam by drawin out their anger, better to draw it then actually do it

3rd grader special ed students getting arrested for drawings? I remember when I was in the 3rd grade a kid had a dull pocket knife telling kids he was going to stab them and he got sent out of school for a week. Wow, times are a changin.

yeah, that\'s why I posted the story. I had a feeling I wasn\'t the only one who drew gory pics when I was little.
Man, America is a great place to live, but lately? It\'s just been going more and more insane these past few years.
And whoever said the comment about a little kid drawing a plane crashing into a building? You\'re right, they\'d probably arrest the kid as a terrorist or something.
I just can\'t get over 2 things. Stick figure drawing, and hand-cuffs.
why hand-cuffs? It\'s necassary to hand-cuff a little special ed kid? Was the big bad armed cop scared of little Timmy and his \'emotional issues\'
I don\'t know about ya\'ll, but I\'m actually pretty pissed about this. Those kids could have easily been me.
And my shit was detailed damnit!!! No stick figures!! Blood!! Guts!!! Skulls!!! Crying mothers and wailing children!!!
