It\'s hard to give info without knowing anything about the trojans. Please Help Virus - fright-rags - 04-01-2005 I know there are a bunch of programs out there to help with spyware, but quite honestly, you may need to reformat. You can try was Hauntmaster9 said to do, but these things are vicious...they plant crap deep in your registry which allow them to deploy (and multiply in some cases) every time you reboot - and it doesn\'t matter if you\'ve deleted them with programs either. They are sneaky lil\' sonnamabitches. My advice is to burn a cd (or two, or three...depending on how much you want to back up) of all the music, images, and other files you want to keep. Then reformat, put a fresh copy of Windows on there, and you\'re all set. Please Help Virus - EverythingJason - 04-01-2005 If you have a trojan horse on your pc, I wouldn\'t even bother with removal tools and whatnot because you can never be 100% sure that everything is gone. I recommend downloading a windows 98 bootdisc which you can do HERE! Reboot your pc and go into the system bios settings. Change your bootsettings so that you can boot from you a:\ drive first. Insert the win98 boot floppy disc and reboot your pc. When the PC is booted up with the dos prompt, type in fdisk. That will give you a few options. Choose to delete the partitions first, you have to play around with it a little if you have never done that before, but if I am not mistaken it is option 3. Once that is done, your harddrive should be deleted. The reason you want to delete the harddrive completely is that if there are any virus files on your drive, a simple reinstall will not get rid of everything even though it overwrites most stuff (you wouldn\'t believe how easy it is to recover those files). Now you can reinstall your operating system no problem. The most annoying part of setting your system back up might be to find some drivers for your peripherals, but if you need to find a certain driver shoot me a pm and I hook you up. Every file that you back up, make sure you scan it before saving it on a disc, because you never know what files might be infected! Also make sure no matter what you do, disconnect your pc from the net when you reinstall and install antivirus software before you connect again. Let me know if you need any help buddy. Please Help Virus - Tyson - 04-01-2005 Do NOT reformat your hard drive just yet, buddy. Get THIS new spyware tool from microsoft that also deletes virii (trojans). I fix computers as a side job, and since the release of this tool, it\'s been a very easy task to remove virii and spyware. What\'s better is that it will run in the background and block incoming spyware and virii. Give it a shot before getting hasty with the reformat. |
