Building A Life-sized Warlock - CrystalLakeSlasher - 08-20-2005

Hey Guys,

Just needed some ideas. I am going to be constructing a life-sized Mikey and would appreciate some ideas on what to build the body out of. I already have a nice weathered 42R Spruce Green jumpsuit, a Warlock and just need some tips on constructing a body form, hands, and an undermask so the neck and eyes would show. I want to make this look incredibly realistic all the way down to a pair of weathered black combat boots. Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated and I will keep posting update pics as I progress. Thanks in advance guys.

theres a few ways to go about it i think.

building a fram of a person out of pvc pipe and then forming body shape on it with chicken wire coms to mind...

as far as a mask with neck and all...always use a jason flesh hood and just get some eyes in the right spots on the head frame

This would be the best thing to mimic if you could, it\'s by far the best Michael I have seen. And really scary!

Whenever I need to make a lifesize, I use PVC tubes and wrap em in foam. That or Bubble wrap and duct tape. Then you can pop bubbles where neccesary to get the muscle definition.

As for a head or hands, I dunno. I know someone who made a Mikey bust out of resin it had the facr and neck sculpted in under the mask and it looked great. Then you don\'t get the real hair though.

Either way I\'d love to see it when it\'s done. I love lifesize figures!

LOL that e-bay mikey is amazing!, td&d, thats a great idea, maybe use pvc and foam for the body and get prop hands from party city along with a flesh hood and acrylic eyes. Thanks guys, keep the ideas coming! PS. I was thinking of using something like that then use paper mache to form the muscles or something.

Oh yeah, here are some decent looking but affordable eyes.

I know some people spend $200 on eyes for a sculpture but I think that\'s a bit ridiculous...

Can one of you gents tell me the best brand/place to buy a Myers Jumpsuit and a Jason shirt from part 3? Please?

I was also wondering, what would be a good undermask for the Warlock display? basically want a piece with eyes and a neck to show throught the latex hero mask.

Sigh. Getting you guys to answer a question is a real chore. And I\'m sorry if 800 people before me have asked. Maybe archive the answer somewhere...

Edit: Don\'t mean to sound grouchy, but I\'d get even more shit for posting a new topic about it, and seriously, aside from the odd helpful PM, the mask community is maybe the least welcoming to newbies, and almost every question is ignored.

"What did you use to make that display bust?"

"What\'s the best recommendation on a jumpsuit..."

"Who do you guys buy glass eyes from...?"

Twisting in the wind, every last one. Bleh.
