Hey there, It\'s been an age since I last posted!!! Was wondering if any of you horror buffs could help me out. I\'m currently in the process of making my first horror film. It\'s your usual tale of a maniac in a mask killing lots of annoying kids
. The thing is I need to make several \'fake\' axe\'s for the special FX. I know Tom Savini made some for F13 Part 1 and I\'ve read how he did this in the book grande illusions. I was hoping maybe one of you guy\'s has had experience in making \'fake\' weaponry or maybe know were such items can be purchased? Your input would be grately appreciated. thanks for reading!

You could make the top of the axe out of installation foam. Take the foam trace a real axe blade on it then take a box cutting knife and cut the shape out of it. After wich paint and weather and you should be good.

Thanks for your suggestion Fang! Gonna try it out as soon as I can get my hands on some insulation foam. I was thinking of making a plaster mould of the real axe and filling it with foam rubber. Does anyone know how to make a plaster mould? If you do can you email me some intructions with pics if possible
