Well, I caught the late show of Van Helsing last night and it was pretty much what I expected. Loaded to the brim with CG effects, but after reading numerous Fangoria articles on the film I knew that\'s how the majority of the FX were to be handled. Definitely NOT a "horror" movie, but more of a Gothic action movie. The Wolfman and Frankenstein\'s monster where the two coolest characters to me. I really liked the transformations of the werewolves, even in all their CGI glory. Good popcorn flick.

*Spoiler below*

I also thought it was pretty cool that Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde had an appearance in it, that kinda caught me by surprise

What did the others who saw this think of it?

Seriously looking forward to this, but, sadly, I live an hour drive away from my closest movie theater, so more often than not, I wait till something hits video. From what I have seen (The Low Down on Sci Fi last night), and read (Fangoria), it really looks awesome. I know I would last all of 2 seconds around Drac\'s Brides though. SIGH. I\'m a sucker for a hot vamp! LoL

There are some pretty damn "watchable" women in this flick. Dracula\'s brides, and Kate Beckinsale is smokin\'!

All of my friends saw this flick last night and said it kicked ass! They aren\'t even big into Horror/Sci-Fi and beat me to the theatre. I\'ll hopefully make it sometime next week to see it.

Damn an hour away? I have about 5 within 20 minutes from me. Where do you live man?

I liked it a lot. I was worried about the CGI before going, but was very impressed by it, especially the first scene with the wolf man. However, I didn\'t like how Dracula was defeated.

up in the Northern woods of Maine. Bangor has the closest movie theater to me. It\'s 65 miles away from me, so going there on a regular basis isn\'t too much of an option. If I had a reason other than going just to a movie, then fine, but I don\'t get down there all that often.

I think that it was an awesome movie. I just saw it last night. Great special effects. The werewolves looked great in the movie.
