Ok I just noticed the paint on the glove I bought from gloveman is chipping in a bad way. I\'m almost afraid the whole glove needs to be stripped because it\'s just going to get worse from here. I would send it back to gloveman to fix it, but...it was hard enough just to get it. Who knows if I would get it back. And honestly, he is new to this plastic glove thing, so I know it takes practice to get it right. Here is some awful pics of the area...

So my question is do any of you fine artists think you can help me with this? I don\'t trust my painting skills at all! Mike did do a very nice job painting this...it just won\'t stay! :verymad:
It doesn\'t seem that he sanded the plastic at all before he painted it....wouldn\'t that have helped? And also maybe since it\'s plastic and bendable, would mixing the paint with latex be a better idea? Thanks gang!

Johnny

I think the reason why it chipped is because Mike did not seal it in with clear coat or something. Im sorry this happened to you ,mate.

well its a bendable plastic, and unless its painted with the right paint and sealer, it will crack like it did

Im sure he knew this, seeing as how he has made others....and if not, my condolences

He said he coated the hell out of it before he sent it, but obviously it wasn\'t enough. Do any of you know of someone that might be able to re-paint this for me?
I know my best bet is to probably just send it back to him and see what happens...but I thought maybe one of you guys might have a better idea.

was it spray or airbrushed?

I Need Help Guys! - SNIKT! - 01-29-2006

I don\'t know actually, but if I had to guess I\'d say airbrushed there are alot of small details...it might\'ve been hand brushed. Look like brush lines are at least on the figertips. Probably a mix of both.

If it is flexible, then it def should have been painted with a flexible paint. i.e. latex. Sad That is after it had been sanded. Ya can\'t paint on a smooth flex surface with normal paints. Then sealed with a flexible sealant. I wish that I could help instead of just giving my two cents, bro. Someone on this board must be able to help.

Hey man...
Try to contact Andy a.k.a "RavenMedia" ....I know he has painted plastic gloves and he did an amazing job..so I\'m sure he\'ll be more than glad to help you solve the problem. Maybe you could even send it to him. Hope this helps and I\'m sorry about what\'s happening to your glove.

Thanks Farid...should I just PM Andy here then? Or would I have a better chance on the Robert Englund forums?

I Need Help Guys! - farid_krueger - 01-29-2006

try both.. Just to be sure Smile
