How Bad Was Your First Sculpt ? ? ? - Jasonlivessince1980 - 12-25-2009 My first sculpt was an old man bust I did in high school... not so good, but it later served as the armature (along with a clock radio and some tape) for my first horror-related sculpt seen here... How Bad Was Your First Sculpt ? ? ? - scabboy - 12-25-2009 Not my first, but my first "head"I ended up quitting after a few weeks of messing around here and there at work. How Bad Was Your First Sculpt ? ? ? - Bezzerkerr - 12-25-2009 What clay is everyone using?I assume it'd a bright idea to ditch the grade school air dry clay?Any reccomendations? How's super sculpey? I heard great things. How Bad Was Your First Sculpt ? ? ? - IbDaToNeGuY - 12-25-2009 i like the freddy you're working on . you have the burn marks down pretty good . best way to sculpt any freddy is to first sculpt Robert . Then when you have that done , start the freddy details . but you are off to a nice start <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> mike, How Bad Was Your First Sculpt ? ? ? - Bezzerkerr - 12-25-2009 Thanks mike. It's the best thing I've ever worked with, but will require lots of melting down and maybe a heat lamp to keep larger amounts of clay easy to knead and shape (just like most great quality clays will...It's not as tedious as it sounds).Cheers,Ryan How Bad Was Your First Sculpt ? ? ? - sidewinder420 - 12-26-2009 This is what I use, the NSP brown, but I use the soft and it works great for me.<!--quoteo(post=343765:date=Dec 25 2009, 09:25 PM:name=The Death Curse)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE (The Death Curse @ Dec 25 2009, 09:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
<div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecSuper Sculpey's great if you like not being able to see what the f**k you're doing under any and all lighting conditions imaginable! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> In all seriousness, I'd recommend brown, medium-hardness NSP Chavant clay. Resident Evil's Nemesis. I made a full sized mask from it and called it "S.T.A.R.S." after the only thing it ever said. I've made a few unreleased sculpts since, but this was my first. It was sculpted out of water-based WED clay. |
