What Do I Need To Drill And Cut A Jman Hockey Mask? - BELLAMY - 11-18-2007

Im tempted to buy a lot of 10 .90 abs thick Jason masks off ebay right now. All are uncut and undrilled..... DO I need a dremel kit to cut and drill these?Anyone have some info or know a site with step by step instructions on how to prep a hockey mask? Thanks!

As far as drillling the holes, you can just use a drill and a drill bit, bits for wood or metal work fine, just as long as it is the right size, I can't remember the exact size right now. A dremel really helps for the eyes and edges. You can drill holes in the eyes, as a pilot hole and take a drum sander bit for a dremel and shape and cut the eyes. A lot of blanks need to have the outside edges sanded down as well. A dremel is also handy for axe cuts, propeller damage, etc.

I saw those listings too. I have seen them before. The seller has 100% positive feedback. Anyone know if they are pretty accurate blanks?

You can use spray paint for the base color, what I do is use a gray primer to prime it and then use a flat or gloss, (depending on what you want) almond spray paint. From there you can draw your tris and masking tape them and you can use model paint for those, or I usually just use spray paint in a deep red for those. You can weather it by mixing acrylic paints with a little bhit of water to make a thinner wash and then seal it and build up the washes in layers, depending on how weathered you want it.
