New Pics Of My Pt. 6 Hockey! - IbDaToNeGuY - 01-11-2005 i do the same as you man . i paint by hand but not cuz i don\'t have an airbrush but because i find airbrush to (sometimes) look a bit fake . painting by hand you can do so much but also i\'m having that problem finding the right color but i just can\'t get the wash look . you say mix paint with paint thinner and i hear mix it with water  . but when i do it the paint goes straight to the bottom and i even stir it a little and still nothing . mike, New Pics Of My Pt. 6 Hockey! - Darth Veach - 01-11-2005 Believe it or not I have had success with damp paper towel or a textured sponge. You can get a good layered effect of dirt or weathering with it. DAMP not soaking wet. And dip it into your paint and dab off excess onto your pallette or a piece of cardboard, then dab the paint with it. That is how I painted my hockey masks below.
