i do the same as you man . i paint by hand but not cuz i don\'t have an airbrush but because i find airbrush to (sometimes) look a bit fake . painting by hand you can do so much but also i\'m having that problem finding the right color but i just can\'t get the wash look . you say mix paint with paint thinner and i hear mix it with water  . but when i do it the paint goes straight to the bottom and i even stir it a little and still nothing .

Believe it or not I have had success with damp paper towel or a textured sponge. You can get a good layered effect of dirt or weathering with it. DAMP not soaking wet. And dip it into your paint and dab off excess onto your pallette or a piece of cardboard, then dab the paint with it. That is how I painted my hockey masks below. (Sorry I guess I wanted another excuse to post pics of my masks! he he  )

Yeah, and "a member" on this board owns it now! Big Grin I don\'t want to name drop since I don\'t know if they would want people buggin\' \'em about a mask or whatever. Yeah, I tried to make em as accurate as possible, My PT3 could\'ve been better. Especially now that I saw Dean\'s new one!! But I enjoyed working with them. Hey, I was happy for my first tries!

if your just talking about the base color try Almond
but I see that color more of a pt3 but you can take the cap in and match it up to darker or lighter if needed
