Great ideas thanks! Although I do have the Rubies parts from the costume and am trying to figure out how to connect them so they last and with the least amount of time. I might also make some for fun with those ideas. I could also maybe connect the latex shins to shin guards?! I have some too being I freestyle a lot. (BMX) I also notice that leaving some latex exposed (unpainted) looks like bone!

you should be able to connect the rubies pieces no problem. Just lightly sand the surfaces of the pads and whatnot and use latex to bond them....take care,Tommy

I think latex would work best being it is flexible. Fabric glue and mod podge seem about the same thing, glue.

The latex or glue did not stick to the shin guards due to a cloth covering that is pretty tight on the shin pad. So I tried stick on velcro to see if it would work before maybe sewing velcro on. But I think I will keep the stick ons for now. However I notice it does not want to stay entirely stuck to the latex parts. So what kind of glue or sealer could I use to go over the edges in order to add support? I would like to glue over the edges, then add some electrical or duct tape to really make them strong.Sewing them into pants take far too long by hand, and is very risky because the placement does not always stay. Plus they kinda weigh down the pant legs and sag, so underneath the ripped pants is more realistic and better looking. They fit around my leg, but I will be wearing them over shin guards and maybe a knee pad to push them out through the pants more. I was going to duct tape the top knees to the pad, but I found out that the knee needs to be able to shift some when walking and sitting etc, so it would not stay well most likely. But the four straps seem to work well so far, one on each side near the bottom, and just under the knee at the top. So yeah what could I seal the velcro edges with that will stick to latex?
