Thought I'd through in a cheap method of making a Book of the Dead for a Haunted House prop. All you need is:Cotton Batting (in sheet form)Cotton Batting (Loose)Liquid LatexCheap bookGlueWood StainTake the cotton batting and wrap the outside of the book and glue down. Let about a 1/4 inch or so hang over the edges to glue down on the inside of the cover. Then cut two squares to completely cover the insides, then glue down over the folds. (You can do this in one sheet if you want). After glue is dry, cover in liquid latex, of course, you'll have to do one side at a time. Then take some loose batting, dip in latex, and start forming eyes, nose, ears, ect. and sit in place. When dry, do the inside. When all latex is dry brush on wood stain.I did this one last year for a Hayride prop.Hope you all enjoy this cheap method of prop making.
