Hey guys,I've had a video iPod for a while now and I love this sucker. A few months ago I took all of my NOES movies and ripped them from DVD to put on here. They went on perfectly and to this day I have no issues with them at all. However after those movies went on great it seems that anything else that I copy over to it seems to start losing audio sync with the video ultimately ending with about a 1 second delay from video to audio....ie You see a door slam and then about a second later you'll hear it.The movies will start out perfectly sync'd but as it progresses it starts to lose this sync ruining the movie. Currently I use Xilisoft iPod Video Converter and have found it to be the best out there for my needs. I've been screwing with the bit rates which are set by default to 64kbps thinking that it might solve the problem but it's not. The sample rate for the audio is set to 44100 which is what it was set to on all of my NOES movies (which as I said work great all the way through) yet this problem keeps happening and I'm at a loss.I've also go the quality of the entire film set to (Excellent Quality mp4) which is also what the NOES movies were set to. I would like to point out that it happens on anything I copy over to it now except for those movies. I thought at first the sync issue was coming form the rip from DVD itself however I've since confirmed that the rip in AVI format is perfect on my computer with no sync issues as well. In doing this I've been able to confirm that the problem is happening in the conversion from AVI to MP4 and I'm completely at a loss. The default audio codec that the program uses is MPEG4AAC and there is no option for me to change codecs. This was also the same codec used when doing my NOES movies. That being said guys...anyone who might have some insight into this problem or may be an A/V wiz I would really appreciate some imput. I love my NOES movies...but I got this sucker so I could put all of my horror flicks on it so I could have them on the go and so far it's not living up to it's purpose. Thanks in advance for any advice that may be given guys!Oh I forgot to add that it's also set up for 2 channel audio and currently I've changed the bit rate from 64 to 256 to see if that solves the problem, however it's never done so when I've tried it before. Here are the specs for the video...please let me know what you think.Video:Video Codec: mpeg4Video Size: 320x240Bit Rate: 512Frame Rate: AutoAspect: Full ScreenAudio: Audio Codec: mpeg4aacBit Rate: 256Sample Rate: 44100Channels: 2-Joseph

Did you use the original method that you used a few months ago to rip these to your pod? If so, this is very weird. Im not really confident to say that it could be a memory problem ... but if you have used the same method as initially when you ripped the NOES movies back a few months ago then to me it sounds more like a hardware problem. I would contact technical support for your ipod if you haven't already and see if they can be of more help.Alternatively you can search for some programs that will extract and unlink the Video and Audio, this way you can choose the sampling rate and format of the audio.Wish i could be of more help!Jason

Dude thanks for replying. See at first I thought that it might be a conflict between the file and the iPod but then I started checking the file in quicktime before I sent it over to the iPod and saw that it was losing sync there as well. To answer your question...yes I used the exact same method as before and it seems to do it on everything now for some reason. Recently I tried to copy my Halloween movies over to it and noticed that they did the exact same thing. Thinking that it may have been an issue with the file I viewed them in Quicktime as well and noticed the sync was off after the initial converstion from avi to mp4.I do appreciate your advice bro and if you or anyone can think of anything else I might be able to try, drop me a line with ideas. Thanks so much for the input Jason!-Joseph
