i'd just cut it when you pull the masks because if you were to cut it into the sculpt , when you hair the mask , you'll have that huge gap in between the hair and it'll look a bit off .

I do have more pictures, but they're all publicly available and you may have seen most - if not all - of them posted on MM.net and similar websites. If you're going to leave the neck the way it is right now, I suggest sculpting (or just cutting) a slightly OPEN slit (no more than 0.5" to 1" width at the bottom that gradually closes toward the top) on the back of the sculpture. If you don't, you're going to have a lot of needless overlap of the two flaps on the finished latex masks, as that neck might be kinda heavy if cast in medium or thick latex. 'Just saying. You could even base the length of the slit you carve in back on the thickness of your clay's build-up. If it's on the thin side (IE: a rather small mask), do an 8" slit. If it's built up really thick in full preparation for shrinkage (IE: a larger mask that fits many head sizes), you may want to go with a 4" slit to avoid annoyance involving the neck not flaring correctly when worn. I don't know, though. I'm just throwing out random ideas here.Cheers,Ryan
