Here\'s a Flesheater mask by Bumpinthenight productions that I decided to give a makeover. Chuck Jarman\'s design and sculpt is superb but I wanted to try and add more life to the character. So I replaced the latex teeth with plastic ones, gave him eyes, repainted the skin and voila you got yourself an even nastier looking mudderfugger.

Although I don\'t know what this piece looked like before, I think it looks cool as hell now. I really like the colors of the remaining flesh. Changing out the teeth and adding eyes seems like a great idea to improve on a static display. Nice job! Do you have any \'before\' pics?

Looks killer man. I get sort of a Tarman meets the Crypt Keeper vibe off this. The tones are excellent. Looks like he just crawled outta the ground in a way.

Edit: I think this is the original mask:

If so, I\'d say the re-finishing work on this is beyond impressive. Looks like a totally different piece now!

I did see that picture already but figured the production mask may look quite a bit different than the catalogue pic. Would still look cool with some sporatic strands of hair.

You mean like the Gates of Hell mask they did? LOL I love the catalog pics of that thing, but the one I have in hand that I purchased years back, not so much lol. I wish someone could actually re-finish it and make it look like those pictures. The mask in those old catalogue photos matches the one sheet artwork pretty closely. But yeah, I feel ya. The Blind Dead mask I got from them matched the "proto" photos pretty closely though. I guess it just varies when dealing in mass-production.

And yeah, I agree on the hair. A few spotty patches of hair, and even some soily gunge from the grave peppered around on the head would set this piece completely off!

The mask did look like the catalog photo for the most part. Here is a bigger pic of it: http://www.flickr.co...157609601301193 Except on mine the skull color was kinda all over the head, it was hard to see what parts were skin and what parts were exposed skull. So I gave the skin a stronger tint of brown to make the transition more visible.

Yeah, he does kinda resemble those, I think he looks like a live action EC comics zombie now myself.
Thanks to all who replied, I appreciate the feedback.
