thanks guys!yea ulli, my good friends father who works with comps had taken it, turns out there rlly was no hardware failure. the graphics card and ram were all fine. after a crap load of attempts he informed me he rlly thought if i just reformated it would work. some kind of OS issue must have occured. so yea i had to lose some stuff. but its working like new again now for a couple weeks with no signs of any problems *knocks on wood
