Yeah, I wouldn\'t be suprised if Roth was watching audition when he was writing Hostel. The contrast of the light to dark makes it alot more disturbing, the only thing that disturbed me about saw was that it was made. I didn\'t give a shit about a single character in saw.

I liked Saw but only because I have been in love with Shawnee Smith since I saw Summer School in the Theater. Haven\'t seen the second one yet.

The second one is alot better than first but its not fantastic or anything.

I KNOW that HOUSE OF WAX sucked! It was a joke! What I said was that it showed more gore than Hostel.
And as for the HARD TARGET comment, I don\'t remember saying that it was the SAME as Hostel. I remember saying that Hostel was not an original story. HARD TARGET was very similar. The main difference of course, is that Hostel is much more sick and warped. Let\'s face it; in both movies we have people who have a lot of $$$ that pay to:
A-hunt down and kill their prey,
and
B-torture and kill their prey.
And what\'s the payoff for these people in both movies? To get a rush or a high. That\'s what Similar means.
I totally agree with you regarding SAW. The acting wasn\'t all that great at all. But I enjoyed the story. I\'ve never seen a film with a story like that before. And the ending was cool and unexpected.
Hostel DID have actors that could act, which helped the film.
Don\'t get me wrong, I DID like the movie, I just didn\'t think that it was all THAT great. It wasn\'t as good as I expected it to be. I was seeing commercials that had a guy at the beginning saying: "This movie contains explicit gore and torture, and is EXTREMELY violent!" When I saw that, I said Damn! Got to see this flick! I had NEVER seen that at the beginning of a film commercial before. So there was a lot of hype about it. I guess I got my expectations up a little high.
Remember, this is, like I said before, MY OPINION. I respect everyones opinion when they critique a film that they have just seen, whether I agree with it or not. You think that HOSTEL was GREAT, good for you. I respect that because it\'s YOUR opinion. I was just giving mine.
