THE STORY
I have been on a search for a ’75 Kirk for nearly two years now. Ever since I saw Chan Warren’s in such great condition… I knew there was hope out there in finding one. After seeing pumpkinhead77’s post under general discussion “Is this a 75?” I decided to take a gander, thinking it was either a DP or McCain that someone was passing off as a real 75. After squinting at the tiny eBay pics I saw some details in the mask that really did resemble the Post 75. So I emailed the seller, Primo M. and asked him for more pics. When he sent them, I was amazed! I could see every detail that makes the Kirk and Myers so intriguing and special! Now I knew the mask would go for a good bit if the auction ended, but emailed Primo a private offer… he didn’t want to sell at first, but after discussing Myers with him, telling him it’s a huge part of my life and filling him in on the true value of the mask and how special it is… he finally agreed to sell!
Primo is a great guy and he will be joining us here very soon to discuss the history of the mask in detail. Sometimes its hard to put a price on a Kirk. Unfortunately, I did not have all the funds to buy it so my good friend Romel (fasttimes!!) funded the mask. On and off of work (at Mickie D\'s) he always has the cheese to help out and even makes hefty donations here to keep MM.net going strong! We have been going in together on masks for years now and I couldn’t ask for a nicer guy to help me out on this one. I currently have it in my possession as I worked hard to get the mask… and I just snapped pics tonight. I will be shipping to Romel for him to display it very soon. We have a mutual agreement that it will never leave the two of us and I will be buying it from him as soon I get the funds together to do so.
The condition of the mask is fair to good. The eye cuts aren’t completely accurate, but c’mon it was converted over 25 years ago and they still have that H2 Warlock look in my opinion. It’s really uncanny how close this mask and the screen used look today. The washed out clown-white paint scheme and nappy hair are just classic. The latex is thin and silky unlike any other mask I\'ve held. Anyhow, Romel and I plan on either having the mask completely restored or preserving it as is. All of this is still in discussion right now.
Getting that FedEX box at work today and opening it was unbelievably exciting! Talk about an early Christmas present…. Woohoo! I’m just glad that we went in on this deal together and can keep the mask in the Myers family! You guys can appreciate something like this more than anyone else out there so it deserves to have MM.net for a home. I’d like to thank Primo, Romel, and pumpkinhead77 for making this opportunity possible! Long Live the Seventy-Five!
It\'s pic time!!!
