Hey guys, I\'m in a webdesign class, and our final is a presentation of an actual marketable website so I thought I\'d kill 2 birds with one stone and build the Basement Creations website. Anyway since the site really isn\'t selling anything now I thought it would be ok to post a link to it here. What I need help with is some quick proofreading and your thoughts on the overall design. My final is in less than 7 hours now and I have to submit the website online before I even get to class. Just post responses in here.

Basement Creations

thanks
Cory

Dude that looks awesome!!!, i wish it was a real site cuz your part 6 and 8 hockey masks are killer...really looks good, but i would change or re- word some of the intro. maybe get rid of this " so if you have any needs for custom products" or change the wording.

Thanks D-Bach. I changed it to "If you need any custom products...please feel free to contact us."

It is a real site, but we haven\'t decided what we are going to sell just yet, the site will stay up and I will just change it as Adam and I talk about what we\'re going to do with it.

thanks for the compliments on the hockey masks by the way!

On the main page...this:
We currently have a small product line-up and we are adding new products all the time. If you need any custom products...please feel free to contact us. Thank you so much, and please enjoy our website.

Should read:

We currently have a small product lineup and are adding new products all the time. Please feel free to contact us if you need any custom work done. Thank you so much and enjoy our web site.

Your product page images are WAY too big...the part 4 is just under 1MB when it should be around 100KB. Not to mention that the actual image size is being reduced to about 50% of its original size...I can help with that if you\'re interested. Hang on...I\'ll show you what I mean.

Okay, here\'s your part 4 image "real" size...meaning, the actual image before it\'s reduced by your site...but the nearly 1MB file size remains:

Here\'s how it looks at less than 1/10 the file size and reduced to the proper image size that\'s slightly larger than on your site.

Make any sense? Some of your other images are that way...when designing a web site, you want your images to load as quickly as possible so people don\'t move on to another site.

Okay, I just checked...your parts 7, 8, VS, and custom can all use some size reduction. Don\'t get me wrong...I\'m no web site expert, but I\'m pretty damn good with grammar & image work.

Here are those other four I mentioned resized and ready to go!
Smile

The actual visible image size is the same (or close to it), but the file size is MUCH smaller, resulting in faster loading time for that page.

* Looking at your other areas now *

Okay...on your contact page, make your e-mail addresses hyperlinks so people can just click on them instead of having to copy/paste them into their TO: line. Also, drop "- the BC Crew." to the next line under "you very much!".

Last but not least, you need better looking models.
Tongue

Overall, you did a great job on the site...I just like to help where I can.

Thanks Martoch...I would\'ve resized everything to begin with but I got in a hurry. I understand all the stuff you\'re talking about except "get better models"
