Don Post Myers Masks (pics A Plenty)

I\'ve had these for a little while now and haven\'t gotten around to posting them... so I figured it was time. The first masks are both 99 Don Post Shatners (imo, the next closest thing to a 75). Tough cookies to come by nowadays for sure. The converted copy was done up by Kelly Mann a while back . I was told that he had behind the scenes pics of the screen used mask and he painted it to capture the up close feel with the nasty glue lines, paint blemishes, scuffs, etc. Of all the masks I\'ve owned this one definately feels like I\'m holding a screen used mask. I know the paint, hair, and glue lines aren\'t completely accurate but it really has a look that I love. Pictured next is the mask I remember the most as a young child, the 1985 Don Post "The Mask". This copy is near mint and looks great. My parents wouldn\'t pay $50 for a mask back in the mid-late 80s so I couldn\'t obtain it then. Now, almost 20 years later I have him in my hands... ah, the memories. Enjoy the pics guys!

Im a bit younger then Chad, so I dont remember seeing that mask in 85... (probably because I wasnt born yet)

But I do remember getting Party City catalogues around Halloween time, and gawking over this mask over and over again....to me, when I was 5 or 6, the Party City catalogue was my Fangoria.

awsome pics chad i realy would like to nab a 99 shat .....heres my 85 in all its glory still mint as well and i wore it for 6 years but always preserved it properly....thers a huge difference in the 85s and then the ones that came out a few years after.....the quality hit the shits after the 85s...

I still think the \'85 might be my favorite Myers mask...if only for the nostalgia factor. I have mine boxed up and put away...I wore it many times but always kept it powdered and in a bag so it\'s still in mint condition. I also have the tag and original receipt for it too. It was my first ever \"really expensive\" mask purchase...I saved up all my money and my sister was nice enough to chip in for it. A few years later my firend (who had foolishly waited to purchase one) wanted to buy one for himself and we noticed the quality had gone waaaay downhill. It felt like they were making them out of vinyl or some crap.

Hold onto to those 85 DPs guys... they\'re getting scarce. And Ben, you\'re right about the nostalgia factor really making the 85 the all time greatest mass produced Myers mask. Everytime I hold this guy it takes me back into the place I used to go as a young kid to buy masks - Fat Mans Forest... man I loved that place!

No, the 86 DP The Mask is similar but painted white and a different type of latex.
