Punisher War Zone Dec 2008

My cousin runs all the booths at 30 screen theatre out here in VA, he called me up and said they just got in the Red band trailer to The Punisher, knowing that i was a die hard punisher fan, he knew i could not resist. So I woke up slipped some flip flops on and drove a few minutes to the theatre. Well for those of you that do not know a Red band trailer is the violent one. The one with the juicy scenes that can only be attached to R and NC-17 movies....some times it slips on to a PG-13 if the subject matter is related. SO ....we put it on and it began. Being a huge Punisher fan, i loved Lundgrens film even though the acting was comical and i like the Thomas Jane version. This one look slike complete and utter crap. He looks like a steroid induced Steven Segal and the picture looks like that of a Sci-Fi Channel direct to DVD release. Some of the "action" scenes are quite funny and very oddly executed. Bu it is a trailer, some trailers make movies look awesome and then they suck and vice versa, but so far no good. IMO.Have any of you guys scene the trailer yet, I know some theatres were starting to put it on reels oh The Hulk and a few bottom dollar theatres that are starting to get Iron man Prints have it attached. Youtube has the regular teaser trailer that looks pretty bad as well. but take a look and you be the judgeMatt

This film has been in production for quite some time now....the trailer looks awesome. The original Punsiher was horrible, the one with Thomas Jane was great, but not really dark enough. They also changed the story around a bit too much. This one should be dark and violent like a Punsiher movie should be.If we could only get a decent Spawn movie now...

I've been looking forward to this Punisher since I found out Ray Stevenson was attached to play Frank. I watched the trailer twice yesterday and it looks freaking sweet to me. The 80's movie is one of those that you get a couple beers and make fun of as you watch with a friend. The Thomas Jane one was not really anything like The Punisher(Why the hell was he in Miami?) but it was a somewhat enjoyable film. I also can't stand Thomas Jane. He made fun of Ray Stevenson as soon as he was cast because he claims no one knows who he is and Thomas Jane is somewhat known. I think he's just petty because he doesn't want anyone else to be The Punisher since he played him last.Anyway, Ray Stevenson is far more awesome and looks a lot more like Frank than Jane. The movie looks rad to me. Hopefully they actually do Frank right in this one./Rant off.

Just watched the trailer looks good but he does not look the part he looks totally shit! they should of got Jane back!!

I remember reading an interview with Thomas Jane where he said he was busy filming " The Mist " when they wanted to do Punisher 2.They should have waited for him as he was a great Punisher. Very bad move on the studios part.I am still waiting to see Ray Park do the Marvel Comics " Iron Fist " movie but this will most likely be pushed back as he is " Snake Eyes " in the new " G.I. Joe " flick.

I saw the trailer and any hopes I initially had for this film were crushed immediately. I was excited about the casting, the back to the roots style... NY back as Frank's stomping grounds... but the trailer looks off. The action was laughable, the weird armor he had on looked strange and overall it deflated everything I had in my mind that this film would be.I will probably see it anyway, being a hardcore Punisher fan... but it looks BAD....

LOL, Ray looks EXACTLY like Tim Bradstreet's cover art, doesn't he? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/teehee.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":teehee:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"teehee.gif\" /> He looks great!I have high hopes for this one. I was put off by Tom Jane's whiney, emo-style Punisher. Welcome Back, Frank was a great comic run but didn't fit well for an actual movie. I've read this script and I've seen some of Lexi Alexanders previous work. I believe this flick could be a lot of fun.As for Thomas Jane, he whined to thepunisher.com that Lions Gate wasn't working fast enough for him and he felt that the first draft of WZ (which was totally scrapped) was horrible. Honestly I'm glad he left, as I don't really want someone recently charged with DUI and pot possession to be out on the media circuit hyping a movie about a man who kills criminals.It's about time they found someone to play the Punisher that looks the part. I saw the teaser and I't looked like a low budget direct to dvd movie. It's really to soon to tell though.I picked up the directors cut of the tom jane one and I thought it was a good but not great movie.
