I dont think it matters how many pixels you have. When I chose my cam I thought about what I would be using it for, if it is just for taking pics of masks then you should be fine with 4MP. Also a tripod helps alot for taking clear pics indoors.

Scott, how did you get such a big penny!?!?!And Daniel is right, it has a lot to do with what you do with the pic. Jon, from what I've seen, you REALLY need a tripod.... for your camera. <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Big Grin\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />

Check out the reviews on www.dpreview.com those guys are super-critical and even list prices of some of the top camera/electronics websites. I'm currently shopping around for a new camera myself (since mine was stolen at Bonnaroo). Adam's right about the tripod and Daniel is right about the lighting. Both are EXTREMELY helpful, but you do need a good camera that can adjust for different lighting situations. I recommend mid-level to high high grade Canons for most people. Two other good brands would be Olympus and Nicon. Leica is good too, but very expensive. Just check out some of those reviews and see what you can find. The cam I'm looking at right now is a 400 dollar canon with 8 MP resolution and Image stabilization for those shaky moments.Hope this helped rather than hindered...Cory

I have a cannon A550, its a great camera...takes real clear pics, especially outside... If your trying to take pics of something real close up it helps to have a tripod tho.

I also use Photobucket and have a Canon A610 Powershot. Like Cory said, dpreview.com is a great site.
