Well i'm not around here much lately, but i do keep an eye on the place, and try to help out with questions when i get them, Tommys a great guy and has helped out loads of us on the boards over the years, there have been a lot of naff posts and bickering lately, i'm sure it'll settle down. This is a great place, i've found a lot of good mates on here, long may it continue!

I for one have been known to be a butthole from time to time and will be the first to admit that I can be harsh. I don't recall being so to any new members(none that I didn't ban instantly, anyway). And some of the ones that I butt heads with have become online friends, Puckface can attest to that. I haven't made too many friends here because of that and many of the more mature and/or older guys will find that I agree with them on some level 90% of the time. But you'll notice I don't post too much these days and am more of a lurker on the board, cleaning up posts or whatnot when I see one that needs it.I recently banned a guy and I'm pretty sure most of the other mods didn't agree with it, but I'm here to flush the turds from a very good friend's business site. That's why I can be harsh sometimes, but as I said, I don't post too often anymore and am becoming content just lurking and observing. But yeah, some of the topics I see are things that have been talked about here before, but damn, no need to ream a dude just cause he brought it up. If it's new to them it may be new to someone else. And the "I know something you don't know" mentality irks me to no end. Get off your high horses and take a deep breath of the air the rest of us breathe. One last thing, though. There's a few guys here that think they are better than others for any one reason or another, touting the people they have spoken to(probably at a convention, bothering someone til they give you some juicy bit of info so you will leave them alone) or something they have or can do as their right to be called the biggest fan. Bleh. I'm more of a casual fan, I don't know every single mark on any one hockey mask, hell I honestly can't tell the difference between any of the H1 Myers masks(such as phone scene, closet scene, etc.) but I do enjoy watching the films and seeing the masks.Just chill out and share your scores, your memories, your pictures. Off Topic is the biggest part of this site and that's what it's about. Just. Chill. Out.

Another thing that really bothers me is when someone asks a question and you answer it with the correct general knowledge and another person chimes in and rephrases what you've just said in so many other words. That's just another way of belittleing someone in a more passive aggressive manner.

I've been around for a while now and it's one of the first forums i signed up to when i first got on line, it has been both a great social and resourceful site to be a member of and i have made some great friends here. One of the most noticeable things i think about Night Owl is it's large and loyal fan base, there's not many forums out there like this and i think one of the main reasons behind it's success is the way it is run by Justin and his mod team, sure there have been problems in the past but that's just life and Justin has always put it right. It is a very relaxed forum with a great off topic section. There are so many different types of people here and all for different reasons, unfortunately with such a large mix of people there will always be confrontations and disagreements but to me each member has the option of how they conduct themselves and how they behave toward the other members. Jokes are jokes and that's not a problem as far as i can see but blatant bad attitude toward new members is just so pointless and to be honest i find it ugly, looking down on someone because they may not realise something you have known for years is negative and pointless and it also makes Justin's forum look like a site for the 'in crowd' <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Rolleyes\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /> There are a lot of people that take advantage of this site and treat it with no respect and use it as a place to run people down and again i find that really ugly and shows a bloated ego that has no consideration toward Justin or his reputation. After some of the things i have witnessed here i would not have been surprised if Justin had pulled the forum just to show these people that it is not a place to take for granted and abuse for your own gain.I agree with everything you said Tommy and i was only thinking the same thing the other day, people need to take a step back sometimes and realise that this site is more than just an off topic section on a forum.Treat others how you would want to be treated <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

I remember coming here a few years ago under another user name(leatherface91)I kind of settled out after a while when I couldn't afford much.Recently I've been fortunate enough to come across a time where I can afford some new pieces and have even tried to make a few of my own. I came here for the love of the hobby/genre I have seen countless friendships formed on this board over the years.I thank Justin for giving us all a chance to be a part of this board. On a forum like this there are bound to be countless arguments over the years, but some times they can go a little over board.I actually feel an overwhelming majority of people on this form are real down to earth guys just out to help one another.I hope to see this board last the test of time and see us all on it until we fall to the floor. Take care,Heck

Nice post, Tommy.Maybe it's time for some new rules.I rarely have time for the forums, and it can be a headache to deal with at times.I keep these forums open for you guys. If long time members don't stand up and defend a place they love, it becomes like a bad neighborhood. I say monitor the members you feel are out of line and report it. One of the reasons so many members are here is because I haven't moderated the forum with an iron fist and tried to keep it loose but clean. If it wasn't for the mods, I would have pulled it long ago. In the past few years since I have had mods, members got banned. It's funny, I never banned anyone ever - I just talked to them and they either left orstraightened up.Sometimes people need to be shown the door.I will say this - I do have big plans for the site and forums if I could just get it done. Thanks to the members that are here and do support the site.Justin
