Photoshop is the best of the best really, the only program that comes to mind other is one called GIMP and it's free.

If you would rather not pirate software The Gimp is supposed to be good, its free open source software I have used it before and its pretty much just like Photoshop.http://www.gimp.org/If you wanted to actually buy software Photoshop has a program called Photoshop Elements which is more of a streamlined version for less advanced users. I used it as it came with my Wacom Tablet but is still pretty expensive. Try out the gimp or get a "trial" version of Photoshop =)

I use Photoshop or PhotoImpact. The second one is a "simplified" Photoshop... Might be cool for someone that's finding CS3 hard to use...

When Photoshop isn't available, Aviary is a great, web based alternative.http://aviary.com/

Photoshop is the best thing you can use for photos and graphics. It's the standard. A nice alternative to photoshop is paint shop pro. When I want to do something quickly I'll use that instead of photoshop, it's photoshop light basically, and it actually works very well. The program costs less than $100, well worth the money. -Jeff
