Finished this guy up last night, really fun little bust! One of the first things I saw at the Calgary comic expo last weekend was a table with some really cool sculpture work, I wish I would have asked for the guys card so I could buy more of his pieces! This bust though I had to have instantly, first thing I grabbed at the expo. The detail is insane, especially inside the mouth which includes all the teeth, a detailed upper and lower palate, a bitten off tongue and some tendons and veins! To make things a little more interesting for myself, I set a couple goals for this paint job. One, other then the base skin color dry time, do the entire paint job in one sitting, and two, don\'t use any straight blood red on him. Pretty happy to say it worked, and I had a great time with it! Smile The exposed parts and/or gore I did in layers of pink, with dark washes in between to give depth and tone, and then a darker red thinned down a lot with an acrylic gloss sealer as a top layer. I used this on his left eye too, so you can see how little color it actually had. On with the pics!

Fantastic work painting this up! It looks killer. Reminds me very much of a walker from TWD.

Thanks guys appreciate it! Smile It is a completely insane sculpt, if there were 100 more of these similar type zombies, I\'d buy em all and have em finished in a day LOL so addictive! Thanks Hideous, exactly what I was aiming for! Used a few other of Greg\'s little tips to get that TWD really worn in grime look Smile

Yeah man, you totally nailed it. The look is identical to that aesthetic used on TWD. Reminds me of a cross between the RV walker that Andrea skewered with the screwdriver and the one that (spoiler! lol) gutted poor old Dale. Looks great man. Would love to see you do more!

That means a lot to hear, thanks man! The look and aesthetic of TWD is some of the very best in zombie/dead makeup that\'s ever seen any screen, not only uber-realistic but scary as hell! They really run the spectrum, from just pure evil, to sad and morose. This little bust kinda splits the difference, which I love. I can see that too now, yeah he\'s got a lot of the same kinda features as those two, especially the ***SPOILER* Dale snacker (still can not believe they did that!!) I would love to do more myself! So much fun, and I\'d love a bunch to add to my collection. I wish someone would do a line of TWD inspired busts and sell them as blanks, SOO many great zombies, and a few generic/background ones that would be fun to kind of redesign.
