I agree with the ref stopping the fight. After watching the fight and seeing it in slow motion you can cleary see that Castillo was out of it and if you ref didn\'t stop it Corrales could of thrown in another 3 or 4 puches to finish him off and Castillo could of been seriously hurt cause he wouldn\'t have went down directly to the floor but hung on the ropes getting hit more. And as for Corrales getting more chances I dont think so. Lets not forget the ref took a point away from Corrales for spitting out the mouthpiece so Corrales definitly need to end the fight with a k.o. or t.k.o.

You\'re goddamn right. That fight is an easy contender for Ring Magazine\'s Fight Of The Year .

In regards to the on-going Boxing/UFC debate, I\'m sure you\'re right--there\'s no point in turning this post into an argument, rather than a debate.

Quote:I\'m so disappointed in all of you. This new generation of kids has no concept of what a true gladiator is, and insists upon ushering in an era of pussies--the UFC is nothing if not a handful of over-the-top moves, and useless, visceral (seeming) action; there\'s no heart or true grit. Just a bunch of over-confiedent idiots slavering over there unfit oponents and themselves.

I know you all think UFC is a tougher, more kick-ass sport than, say, boxing, but I assure you that notion is farther from the truth than you\'ll ever know. And I especially want to point out that most, if not ALL, of the people who think otherwise have almost certainly never stepped into a ring or an arena themselves. And any fight they might claim to have been in wasn\'t a true fight: it was probably a bunch of wussy kids trying to inflict themselves on each other withoug knowing why or how, with miserable results that everyone lied to themselves about after the fact.

    Fucking kids...

I, of course, still back that one-hundred percent, and I don\'t expect you to agree with it. That is, in effect, the point.

Lastly, a boxer would need extra training to put down a UFC fighter?! How exactly do you think they became boxers? Their lifestyle qualifies and prepares them, HONES AND WITTLES them down to accomplish one defining purpose--to become a boxer. They do it partly because it\'s one way to make a living, and partly because they were born to do nothing else. They live for it, and have an entire lifestyle and livelyhood built solely upon that one, all-encompassing need. Their life is one giant, indivisible training regiment, which, I am certain, makes up for any so-called disadvantage that they might be accused of having (to a UFC fighter?!)... c\'mon. And, for the record: octagon, square, circle, triangle, UFC regulations or Boxing rules... doesn\'t matter, Boxer, hands down; refer to the above paragraph.

hey jseth, don\'t use this \'fucking kids\' shit, dude come on. boxing and martial arts are two different things. obviously you like boxing more, but to say ufc is pretty much a sloppy, retarded sport?? don\'t get me wrong, i loved boxing before ufc was formed, but give me a break. you\'ve got people like tyson who aren\'t even really boxers.. just brawlers. maybe you\'re thinking of toughman or something because ufc is the real deal. no boxer can defend against a well rounded uc fighter... its impossible, take the boxer off his feet, thats it. my stepfather is a retired boxing coach of 20 or more years and even he agrees that a boxer has no match against a mma fighter. its common sense man, come on... boxing may be an \'american tradition\', but ufc stuff is what works on the streets, way more tough in my book. anyway, i think some of you need to tone it down, its two different sports that are never going to join for crying out loud.

yes that is exactly what I have been trying to say. They are completly different sports and they will never join or have a ufc fighter vs a boxer. it just isnt going to happen

its like giving a football player a bat... boxers are great with their hands, but using their feet as weapons? elbows? grappling?? nah, doesn\'t work... not to mention with martial arts comes lots of mental preparation and meditating. its not just sloppy swings.. it may look like it, but if one were in front of that punch coming at them, they would think differently.. but hey everybody is allowed an opinion right? I think it\'s fair to say that everyone is being too presumptuous. If we\'re ever going to compromise, then it would have to be on the grounds that neither side would win, "hands down." It would depend on the individuals fighting.

Also, Tyson is just a killing machine, plain and simple. But, like many boxers, he is a brawler too. And that goes a long way in developing a fighter.

And boxing is as mental, if not more so, as UFC/Martial Arts. Just so we\'re clear on that.

ignorant thing to say. even basketball players have to be mentally prepared. i was referring to the fact that you seem to look at ufc as a red-neck rampage fight. its not. try watching it sometime, instead of just voicing a biased opinion. thanks
boxing and ufc suck anyway... pong is where its at
** don\'t get me wrong, you\'re right, boxers need plenty of mental prep, but so does pretty much anything you want to do with all your heart.

Lets put it this way guys.
Say you are in a fight to the death and you could have Wanderlei Silva\'s (pride MW champion) skills or say Roy Jones jr skills or whoever is on top right now. WHOS WOULD YOU WANT????

Id put Silva against any boxer within weight and he would mop the floor with them.
    JUST My OPINION REMEMBEr
