First and foremost, no bashing, it\'s against the rules.


As some of you know, I ordered an X Hockey Mask from Trioxin about,...oh,...20 months ago. Still no show. :angry: But now I see SSN has all these hockey masks, "from the movie molds." Is this true? The X Hockey Mask they have doesn\'t look too bad, I\'m just wondering did they actually aquire THE movie mold? Or did they recast a Neca X Hockey Mask which came from the movie mold. *again, no bashing, I\'m not calling them recasters, I sincerely want to know* All the hockey masks they have say they\'re from The Movie Mold. Now, I see some nice shape on some of those hockey masks, but I think they all look like they\'re coming off of the same mold and being somewhat reshaped to match the width of the particular movie they\'re made to look like. Also they look really thick and I know the \'real\' movie hockey masks were pretty thin. .060 abs or styrene I believe.

So, in a nutshell. Are the hockey masks \'really\' coming off of a movie mold? Particularly the X Hockey Mask. Cuz I\'m getting damn sick and tired of waiting for my trioxin X Hockey Mask, it\'s been almost 2 years and I\'m really thinking maybe I should just give up on the wait and maybe get one from SSN.

Opinions? Thoughts? Does anyone have any \'behind the scenes\' info on the molds? Pugsly? Warlock? Trav? GB?

By the looks of them they look like they come from the Part 7 movie mold that they use for there New Blood Hockeys. Sean Clark made a post awhile back explaining these hockey masks and why the pics look so bad. They were quick prototypes, I\'m sure there final product you order will look 100 % better. I would shoot Sean an email and ask about the X Hockey Mask. Go right to the source then have board memebers speculate. Hes a real nice guy!!

I think Sean mentioned in one his posts that he actually made a mold off of Kane\'s personal X Hockey Mask.

Q: Why do you say that they are from a screen used movie mold?

A: Every hockey mask we make originally came from a mold made off of the part 3 mask. We are making all of ours from the actual mold used for part 6 & 7 which is the same used for the others. I don\'t mean for this to be misleading because I assume the fans that buy our products know their stuff just as good as us. But the bottomline is they are being made from the Part 7 mold which is a movie mold how ever you want to look at it. And the X mask is molded off of Kane\'s screen used mask.

I wrote Sean, and asked about the masks, as well as the extra cost for having changes made to the basic prototype design (a lot of them are off, of course). Anyway, here\'s what he said:

"You don\'t need to pay extra to get something right. Take a look at our pics of that mask and let us know what needs to be corrected. Send us refference photos anything and everything you can. Our goal is to get everything dead on correct and you don\'t have to pay extra for that."

Damn, that\'s pretty awesome. Course, ya kinda shouldn\'t have to, but it\'s still cool that they\'ll do that. I know DMC seems to put up more of a fuss when you get picky about stuff.

I know Sean also said that the part 7 Hockey Mask that Jasons wearing in the Bust pics looks alot better now. I can\'t wait to see it.

Yes i Beleive they will go above aand beyond on these..I mean on my 7 they put slime and rust and garbage on the INSIDE of the mask...no too mention the outside...They will please people i am certain.
