Second off if you hated Cabin fever there\'s no wonder why you didn\'t like this Roth sets both films up in the same fashion they start out as buddy skin flicks and then they degenerate into splatter flicks. As far as this being compared to hard target. That is just retarded. In hard target you pay for the right to join a hunting party and hunt down a man who is running for his life and a chance for a butt load of cash. In hostel the game has no say in the matter they are drugged and kidnapped. In addition you not hunting them for the thrill of the ultimate game, but you are torturing them to get your sick rocks off. There is no doubt. They are strapped into a chair and at your mercy there is no thrill of the hunt here only pleasure in their pain. This movie was great for what it was, and acheived everything it set out to do. Roth has a bright future in horror movies and will do well as long as he keeps doing what he wants to and doesn\'t pay attention to fanboy detractors or gets stuck in the rut of making cookie cutter pre-teen friendly horror such as House of Wax or The Boogeyman.
