I have to say, IMO, that it doesn\'t get much better than the KH/DW mask.
We\'re talkin\' about a mask that was an ORIGINAL sculpture here. And it looks better than a lot of re-vamped, and re-tooled kirk blanks I\'ve seen. This baby was sculpted using the \'screen-used\' mask man! Every measurement was taken into effect. It took Ken quite awhile to sculpture this badboy, and in the end, he pulled it off.
Remember as well, that when Ken sculpted this mask, he was using the H2 mask, that was also used in H1, as we all know, but the mask had weathered a bit. The reason that I like the way the mask looked in H2 better than H1 is because, as a result of the weathering, and the way it was stored, the top lip of the mask began to slightly protrude over the bottom lip. There is also a lip in the neck under the chin, that almost looks like a very small \'waddle\'. It\'s very subtle, but it\'s there. You see it in the mask in H2 in the scene where Myers is seen in the rearview mirror in the car, and in the close up scenes in the surgery room at the end. Ken sculpted all of this when he created this mask, which is why, of course it is more of an H2 than an H1. But the point is, he captured the look, the style, and he did it all while keepng things like the measurements in mind. And to top it off, the man did an outstanding job on the paint and hair. It really is a work of art.
Take it from someone who held the original in his hands, and looked it over like someone would an old document, it is the closest in \'look\' and \'style\' to the original that I have ever seen.
And as far as the $$$ that one goes for these days, that\'s simply because it is very rare, there weren\'t many made, it was a DW Signature mask, and it\'s considered by many the best ORIGINAL Myers mask out there. Remember, when these were first released, they went for $308.00 SHIPPED, not $1600.00.
I personally think that if Justin had the opportunity that Ken did, he would have created something that would have blown us all away. Look at what the man has done w/ Myers masks in the past, and continues to do with them now!! He just gets better and better every time. He\'s also a great inspiration to me. If he somehow got the mask off of the new owner, the things he could do....
Sorry for the long post guys. Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. Thanks.
