Check out the reviews on www.dpreview.com those guys are super-critical and even list prices of some of the top camera/electronics websites. I'm currently shopping around for a new camera myself (since mine was stolen at Bonnaroo). Adam's right about the tripod and Daniel is right about the lighting. Both are EXTREMELY helpful, but you do need a good camera that can adjust for different lighting situations. I recommend mid-level to high high grade Canons for most people. Two other good brands would be Olympus and Nicon. Leica is good too, but very expensive. Just check out some of those reviews and see what you can find. The cam I'm looking at right now is a 400 dollar canon with 8 MP resolution and Image stabilization for those shaky moments.Hope this helped rather than hindered...Cory
