it is inexpensive and covers everything you need to know
sculpting, molding, casting, painting, hairing, cutting, etc..etc...

as far as monster makers is concerned, you can get away with not buying the whole kit..if you can find clay and plaster locally, and use a different type of paint than the pre mixed you can save a lot of money...a art supply store ( not michales or ac moore) would have the clay, and a construction supply store would have the plaster... you can use almost anything for sculpting tools, I have even seen 2 litre bottles used for the sculpting armature..but it is not reccommended. I am just ranting here, but it is something to keep in mind...all the supplies get really really expensive.
