That one shown in the screen cap is NOT the "hero glove"...It is the stunt. The ends of the fingers don't even connect to the "rivets" seen on the lower half of the finger construction. It's completely separated, just like the "This is God." scene. The hero glove was far cleaner in appearance, as is evidenced by this picture (amongst many other promotional shots):[attachment=28976:1.jpg]I would just concentrate on giving the copper an even coat of age (kind of like how a penny gets old, dull, and "brown") and then make a few small, darker brown spots here and there on the tips of the fingers.By the way, I'm ALL FOR making it look more natural...Especially the aging of the leather and evenness of the copper's color... <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> Cheers,Ryan<!--QuoteEnd
<!--QuoteEEndYou're definitely wrong about that not being the hero. The stunt gloves looked completely different. There was only one metal glove used in the movie and that's it. As a matter of fact, that scene is probably one of the only reasons that they actually built an all metal hero glove (for extreme close-ups).The coloring on the promo pic can't be trusted. They may have cleaned the glove up for the pic, but it's probably just due to the lighting. I highly doubt that the leather was orange like some people think.Although, I'm all for screen accuracy, I think replicating the exact color pattern of the part one glove is impossible. There aren't photos that are clear enough and I think the oxidation patterns changed alot throughout the filming. Therefore, I think knifegloves' new approach is smart. Make it look real and natural. Crude but mechanically sound. Remember in The Nightmare Never Ends book, the idea was to make it look like it was made by someone who had "the skills of a boilermaker."
IT'S ALIVE!
