My favorite part of this so far is the fact that Freddy may possibly have been innocent of the crimes he was accused of. They may reveal if he was or not in the film but I love the idea that there's a possibility that he himself was a victim, so to speak. I'd be pissed too.... but that still doesn't justify coming back as a serial killer. Killing is wrong regardless of false accusations. So, no sympathy there. However, it is possible that he was truly guilty of molestation and he's coming back after those who ratted him out. But it could really lead to some interesting conversations between him and his victims if he ever does speak to them. My gut tells me he was truly guilty and this is revenge for them telling on him. I don't think they would ultimately leave any room for sympathy toward Freddy. I'd imagine that they want to make us and the film characters truly scared of Freddy and any sympathy toward him would take away from that fear.I'm glad they changed some of the backstory. It's a reimagining of Freddy and offers a fresh idea. Even Robert Englund said he wanted to see them change some of Freddy's identity. I like what they've come up with.
