I dont know if this is a taboo subject to start a topic on so mods please feel free to delete this post. What I was wondering is: have any of you guys had the displeasure of being audited by revenue canada or the IRS because of your ebay account, and if so what happened ? My ex wife hacked into my ebay account and took all of my info to revenue canada. now apparently I will be forced to pay thousands of dollars in taxes because of my "unregistered buisness" and because I dont charge taxes on my items. My argument is that I have been collecting masks for years and just because all of the sudden I decide to sell them does not mean I have a buisness. Does anyone have any advice for me, thanks.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndI would speak to a lawyer about it and what the best course of action would be, unless you are willing to pay the money outright. Unless you can proof the government otherwise chances are you have to pay and personally I wouldn't fool around in regards to this issue as there might be heavy fines etc. associated with evading these taxes. Secondly if your ex-wife used your ebay account unbeknownst to you and without your consent I would talk to my lawyer about that as well since that is a criminal offense.
