That is a nice Freddy figure, always wish I'd grabbed it so I could do a re-haul on it. The best course of action for the blades I'd say would be a light weight tin, or aluminum. You'll get a MUCH better look from them, and if he does fall they just bend, and you can straighten them easily. To cut the groves, I'd use an exacto knife and just carefully notch out the plastic, cut a V grove first, then work the sides at the bottom a little wider. As for paint, if you don't mind shipping costs 2 back and forth to Canada, I'd be happy to work on it for ya.
