I'd rather have practical effects that look fake (i.e. cut to a fake head for a second being cut, then cut away and blood splat) than a full screen CGI cartoon bloodbath that is onscreen the entire kill.The thing that worked great in the 80's with practical effects and MPAA butchering is the quick, cut away deaths were convincing and left a lot to the imagination and even tricked your mind into believing that you saw more than you did.
