Clash Of The Titans in 3d was a gimmick. Yet, Tron is 3d will be a reason to watch 3d.</b><!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndThe 80s? 3D movies have been around since the 50s, and we're not talking the red and blue glasses type. When "Creature from the Black Lagoon" first came out it was in 3D with polarized glasses just like you get at the theater today. What has changed since 3D left off in the 80s is the technology. They used to need 2 projectors running a reel of film for each eye, and then the projectors had to be aligned and timed perfectly for it to work well. The problem was that whoever was running the projectors didn't always do it right, resulting in poor 3D effects, "ghosting", and headaches. Digital 3D has eliminated most of the problems.I love 3D, but I agree If they want to go that route the film should be shot in 3D beforehand and not converted after.
