Went to a midnight showing also. After a 45 minute wait due to technical difficulties the film finally beganI agree it felt rushed and you could see every scare coming a mile away.Stuff that bothered me - The credits - Looks like they had a cool idea to do them in chalk, but then they superimpose other titles right over them. It was distracting, like they couldn't decide which to use so they just lumped 'em both on there. The "kids" - These high school students must have opted for the 15 year plan instead of the regular 4, cuz they didn't look too much younger than the parents. The direction - Yeah, I get it, that's Nancy. I don't need multiple close-ups of her name tag to drive it home. Just one will do. Oh look! There's the Elm Street sign - lets focus in on that. Boo! There's Tina (oh, sorry I mean Kris) in the school hall being dragged away in a bloody body bag. Wait a minute, now she's standing in the same spot she was just dragged away from and there's no blood on the floor. Guess we can add editing to this list too.The end - The confrontation between Freddy and Nancy was way too short and left me saying "Wait, that was it? It's over?". Was it horrible? Not really. Was it good? Not really. It's just kinda "there". I don't feel like they stole my money but I won't be seeing it again in the theater and I have no plans to buy it on DVD or Bluray when it comes out.
