Hey guys,
Maybe I just explain my point of fiew so you know where my statement came from.
Here the single given infos collected together in combination with the method of elimination:
Infos:
- 5 masks lined up in a picture
- all of these masks have the same shape
- all have that small looking chevron painted on them
- all of them got pretty much the same paint job
- masks were made probably around the time of production and presumably by MMI
On screen elemination:
- check out the movie and go through the scenes frame by frame
- you will notice, non of the 5 masks can be found on screen
Conclusion:
- one mask can be seen on screen
- however that mask is not part of the line up in the picture
- furthermore, it looks pretty different in all named categories (shape, paint etc)
Extrapolation:
- The masks in the picture have no direct connection to the usage on screen
- Other conventional reasons to create props during production if not to be used on screen, is to supply crew gifts, support promotion or to dispersal replicas for various intentions and motives.
Interim result:
- we have a couple masks here that obviously were not used on screen but for something else
My guess:
- after years of collecting pictures by traveling to various Planet Hollywoods around the world, chatting with production guys and by searching online, I think the masks in the pic were used for promotional usage. I compared the masks in the pic to the masks I saw and they look pretty much like them. Here`s a few of them.

Aditional info about the masks used to promote the film:
- masks were made to be displayed at different conventions around the film release time. I have pictures that were taken during the cons. They were given later to Planet Hollywood and a few of them are still there. New York, Orlando, London.
