Quote:yeah it\'s funny. All boundries disappeared in like 92. It used to be segragated. Jocks from Nerds. Metalheads from Hip Hoppers. Then everyone started smoking weed and getting along.
And here I thought that was just my school! I have to agree that pot seemed to be this unversal thing that crossed boundaries in school. However, I think many of these observations come from the age at which we were at (some of us) during the 90\'s and not necessarily the \"times\" themselves. My brother is 10 years older than me and I think he could make much of the same types of observations. Of course, not every decade is the same, I\'m just saying that being in high school period has a certain pattern of growth over those 4 years that is independent of what time you are in.
Having said that, I do feel things change from year to year and tht does have an effect on the culture. As I mentioned before the Internet has impacted out lives and with that our attention spans. People want information immediately and have everything at their fingertips. I remember my friends and I messing around with CBs at night, thinking it was cool that we could talk to each other without a phone. Now look...there\'s cell phones, email, text messeging...all this need for immediacy has made for an even more rushed culture. I know everyone probably says this, but I\'m glad I grew up when I did.
