Ok. I\'m glad I went to the matinee. Lots of \'gotcha\' startle moments. Lots of claustrophobic scenes of women struggling through tight spaces... got kind of boring after watching three go through the same spot... then we get to see three more of them do the same thing. Yawn. The guys might have liked it better if the shirts were unbuttoned.

Plot holes you could drive a truck through. Nifty looking critters. Can\'t figure out how they can hunt and fight in dark but can\'t figure out they are going right passed a hot, smelly person holding a frelling torch! Like, they can\'t feel the heat or at least smell it??? WHATEVER!

Best part of the flick was the fact that we got the Saw 3 preview.

I liked it. It wasn\'t a blockbuster hit or anything, but what horror movie is in Hollywood these days? I just liked the fact that it was simple and took place in a dark unknown environment where anything could happen. I actually enjoyed it more before the cave demons were introduced - it added to the mystery of it all. The clostrophobic scenes were awesome and added to the tension of the film. I absolutely fear getting stuck in a tight spot like that so I could relate. Could the movie have been better written? Sure. Could it have more suspense? Sure it could. The acting was decent, the kills were cool, and it was worth my $8. The ending could have been much better... but hell I\'m use to those in horror flicks now.

    7/10

I also watched Dog Soldiers for the first time last night, directed by the same guy Neil Marshall. It was a badass werewolf film and I recommend it to anyone out there. The wolves are some of the best I\'ve seen, up there w/ AWIL and Howling if not better. The movie had its slow points but how can you not love a bunch of soliders lighting up werewolves - it was like Predator/NOTLD/AWIL/Alien all mixed up in one cool flick.

    8/10

Oh, and not to move too far off topic but has anyone here seen the "Comapny of Wolves"? I\'ve heard this is a great original Werewolf flick and I want to check it out. Any reviews on it?

You know I agree with you. While it\'s worth watching it\'s cerainly no where near a classic, and yet some have been in ecstasys over it, each to there own I suppose.

I think people are flipping out over how good it was because its been a long time coming since Hollywood has put anything decent out since the Saw films. The horror genre popularity is on the rise and sadly producers/directors are just trying to make a quick buck on worthless films to cash in today. The Descent is better than 95% of the latest horror releases out there. I can\'t say it will ever be a classic though.

Any more details? LRR is a good story. Is it gory? Cool transformations? Worth seeing?

I thought the Descent was an awesome movie.....far removed from crap like Saw and Scream and the like.
"Company of Wolves"...damn its been a long time since I saw that movie. I do remember some cool transformations....If memory serves it was an extremely weird movie...I may have to check it out again..................................Larry

Totally agree with you, Dog Soldiers IMO is one of the the best werewolf pictures ever made. It\'s so suspenseful the first time you see it too, it\'s a true edge-of-your seat flick.
