hey gang, just got a couple quick questions regarding those of you who know your stuff about gaming gear. I just got a ps3, and it already sais 30/37 gb free space. is that because I ran a scan for wireless internet and am using my wireless through the ps3? I also saved a couple of websites as url's once I was online.....could that be what is taking of 7gb of space?also, whats the most ram you can buy for a ps3 and how much is it? 37gb doesnt seem to be all that much, but Im new to the ps3 world so I dunno.any help is appreciated.

I know when I bought mine brand new, there was already a bit of space taken up. I assumed it's because of the stuff they load onto them to make it run but I have no idea.

let me see if i can help a bit, since i got a ps3 awhile back and have played with it a bit as well. The 7 gigs of space that is taken up is the playstation Operating System...aka....OS. No way to get that hard drive space back. In respect to adding memory cards and what not...you can get any kind of memory card ya like and use that for additional storage i have a couple of 2 gig flash drives that i use to save and load up games, video, pictures, and music to and from the PS3. You just have to make sure you have the memory card or flash drive set up properly so that the ps3 will acknowledge whats on there....if ya need anymore help...please let me know....i will do what i can....take care,Tommy

I see them average anywhere from 20=40 bucks and you can get them literally anywhere...drug stores, walmart, gas stations, etc...once you have a file system set up for the ps3 to recognize you can just literally plug them into the usb controller ports and the ps3 will automatically pick them up....usb flash drive linkjust give me a shout if ya need anything elsetake care,Tommy
