Well I think with today's technologies it could really do wonders for films like My Bloody Valentine. And in terms of Friday the 13th, do we really need a sequel to X?

I have to admit most of the remakes that i have seen imo in the past few years i have not enjoyed. Prom night and Psycho I thought where terrible TCM, RZ Halloween where not that great (borderline mediocre) Most of all the Japanese remakes where terrible too, they might be good to the audience if you actually haven't watched the originals. I not saying that there isn't some remakes that a haven't enjoyed but they are far and few between. I did see My Bloody Valentine last night and i will say that i really enjoyed it but they did rework a lot of it.

Isn't this thread a remake of all the other I hate remake threads?lolol...sorry bad joke.Seriously and I am really not trying to come off like an asshole, but if you do not like the idea of a remake then don't see it, buy it, or rent it, but they are still going to make it.It does no good to complain unless you have some pull in the movie biz.Like puckface stated, almost every movie is based on something that was already done before. You have to appeal to the audience of the time, and I honestly am fine with that.I personally like a lot of the new movies, give or take a few.It is always cool to see someone else's take on a character, and i grew up with all the old slasher films. After the original Dracula, there have been tons of Vampire flicks, and after the wolfman, there have been tons of werewolf films, ect ,ect ,ect.I could care less about the old black and white films.I never liked any of those old classics , so if they can make em more interesting then by all means go for it.lolSure some films do not need a redo, but there are a lot that could use a little freshening up, and some that could use a lot of work.lolI hated the original MBV, and I hope to god they made this new one better.I am gonna go check it out soon.As far as the new Friday, and as a Hardcore Jason fan, this movie needed to be made so Jason does not get put on the backburner of peoples minds again. And to be honest, if the previews of this flick do not get the old blood pumping then you better check your pulse.lol....I just wanna see Jason tear shit up, and from the looks of things, he will do just that!!!as far as originality in hollywood, well have you really sat down and tried to come up with something that does not have ties to something that has been done?I have, and it is not easy at all.hahahaI would much rather see something like this then a sequel that makes no sense.again, i mean no disrespect to those who feel differently, this is just one old guys opinion.lol

Platinum Dunes could give less than a fuck about the movies it remakes. It's money. Thats what they care about.<!--quoteo<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE</div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotec“The fans hate the CG,” adds Form. “They hate it. We don’t want to piss them off more than we already do.”<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEnd By their own admission they know what they are doing. Maybe I wouldn't care so much it if they cared about what they do.

Some remakes are good and others are suckish. I know I can't say that the f13 remake is going to be best remake ever, but it looks very promising. The TCM remake was alright I think IMO that they should have first produced the prequel to it then the remake. Psycho remake was crap. I think for the fact that they are remaking some of the older ones like 20's and 30's it would be good because there old like The wolfman but they are the few movies that I never get bored of. Hate for the fact though that they are remaking every single movie made like Jaws and Ghostbusters. I have had heard a far fetched rumor that they are trying to remake the Old Star Wars series but i doubt it. I haven't seen the full MBV3d but neither have I seen the old one so I can't compare. And we all know about the halloween remake.

Since I believe just as many remakes are bad as original ideas, I have no problem with them. In this day and age even "origial" ideas suck, so we may as well have remakes. At least remakes do some good (as in SEs of original movies). Without the MBV remake you think we would have gotten MBV uncut? Doubt it.

I don't mind remakes much, but I'll admit there is a line to be crossed. And I definitely don't like all the complaining about them. Yeah, I could just ignore the complaining, but then again the people complaining could just ignore the movies they are complaining about. It's got to a point where I'm almost afraid to admit that I really enjoyed the Halloween remake for fear that I'll just be bashed to hell over it from people telling me I'm not a true fan or any of that crap.

i agree with wickedbeard.. jason needs to be feared by people, right now he is a joke, because of his last two films.. and this remake ought to put that spookiness back into the series, i love seeing a guy in a hockey mask kill people, it's just one more movie i can enjoy, and i dont see the problem in remakes.. some can be good, some can be bad, it's not like its gonna erase the original...

I think more than past 2 films made Jason a mockery- I think ever since Jason Lives Jason has been portrayed as a larger than life comic book caricature.
