I came across this picture recently....and although I'm sure there's no way to verify whether it's genuine or not I'd still value some of your opinions. This is a picture of what I think may be the head of Mrs. Bates used in the original Psycho (1960). I don't have any info on what materials it's made of or what materials were typically used back in 1960 to make things like this. Here's a picture....I've circled the similarities.....<img src=\"http://i568.photobucket.com/albums/ss126/TheMadCollector/comparisonshot.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />If it is a replica, do any of you have any info who may have made it ? .......or could it actually be the head used in the film ? .....I've read that the head was no longer in exsistance but, I'm not sure now.

Wow... I've heard that it was destroyed long ago. But that honestly looks genuine to me. Is that shot on the left side an actual screen cap? It looks like it, but I know sometimes guys will post a picture of a replica in B&W w/ grain to look like a screen cap when in fact it's the replica. But that looks real to me. What a piece of history to own!

Yep, the pic on the left is a screen cap. I did the side by side comparison and all the circling. From what I have read the color pic was taken in a museum in Paris.

To my knowledge a private collector owns the real one. Justin

Looks pretty close to me, too bad you don't have a shot taken at the same angle as the screen cap. mike

It's advertised as the real deal at the Cinémathèque Française archival museum. It also says they have the female robot from the film Metropolis. Sounds like a lot of film history there and may be a nice visit. I will be in Paris in a week and a half so I may convince my girl to go if we have the time.Nice find!
