Experimented with some new stuff for the dirty fingertip experiment. I tried a different technique with each fingertip and I think the pinky turned out the best. Your thoughts?<img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF5030.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/Fingertips.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

You know, I'm starting to wonder if maybe Lou used brazing rod on the original glove. Mapp gass burns extremely hot and gives a similar nasty look. I used that crap a long, long time ago before I figured out how to make solder stick to steel. However, it really screws up the copper if you're not careful.

The results were a lot more authentic looking.

It's good, but the comparison shot isn't the hero glove is it? Those finger tips aren't joined to the lower stalls. If it is the hero, then Mark - did you notice there seems to be quite a lot of excess solder at the base of the pinky blade?

But my replica is a Standard Hero glove so I didn't attempt to replicate any soldering patterns. But I used the opportunity to build someone's glove AND test out a new process for practice. Might as well get two birds with one stone while I'm at it. I only replicate the soldering patterns on the Deluxe Resurrection glove.
