while 3d is the new fad (really dont know why 80's is so in right now), it would only be ok if it was originally shot in 3d. converted to 3d is a complete gimmick. so im not totally against it, but it has to be shot in 3d beforehand. Clash Of The Titans in 3d was a gimmick. Yet, Tron is 3d will be a reason to watch 3d.

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-a-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Right now we are in a place where it's all about money. If we get a movie shot in 3D like the new "Tron" as mentioned above, with a really good director, and a really good script, we could have movies and projects that could blow our minds and put a new type of film next to black and white and color. But I agree. I'm glad they didn't convert this film. They gotta stop doing that.

When "Creature from the Black Lagoon" first came out it was in 3D with polarized glasses just like you get at the theater today. What has changed since 3D left off in the 80s is the technology. They used to need 2 projectors running a reel of film for each eye, and then the projectors had to be aligned and timed perfectly for it to work well. The problem was that whoever was running the projectors didn't always do it right, resulting in poor 3D effects, "ghosting", and headaches. Digital 3D has eliminated most of the problems.I love 3D, but I agree If they want to go that route the film should be shot in 3D beforehand and not converted after.

3D, currently, is really only good for the theatres, as when DVD's are made for 3D, the coloring is a horrible green, and it just looks terrible. So I am glad that Nightmare on Elm Street did not go this conversion route. I dont go see movies BECAUSE they are in 3D, but it doesn't bother me either. I think it does enhance the experience by giving the film depth, but again, this is only enjoyable for the theatre experience. After that, it's pretty much pointless. I have My Bloody Valentine 3D in 3D and the movie is a horrible green. I watch the 2D version. Rich
